For the combined sheer agility of the jeep and the comfort of the modern Sport utility Vehicles, The Fiat Chrysler says pricing for the redesigned 2017 Jeep Compass will start at more than $22,000, while the compact crossover will become the second most-fuel efficient Jeep after the Renegade. Beating it’s brother a little  bit. Having lived in the Arabian deserts for the last 5 yrs I have seen the passion people have towards the Jeep, The Sahara wrangler, taking it name from the deserts in Arabic language, is a common car on the streets. The Rubricon has also stamped it presence here not forgetting the GM jeep Liberty version.

FCA said Compass pricing would start at $22,090 for the base two-wheel-drive sport trim, including delivery, with awd in the sport model available as a $1,500 option. The mid-level Latitude model will start at $25,390, while the higher Trailhawk awd trim would start at $29,690 and the top-end awd Limited trim at $30,990, all including shipping. That’s a few dollars to pay for the rich Arab nationals and am sure by now the orders are already done.

The redesigned Compass, which is now built for the U.S. in Toluca, Mexico, is equipped with a 2.4-liter I-4 engine and one of three transmissions: a nine-speed automatic, a six-speed automatic and a six-speed manual. The manual-equipped two-wheel drive Compass produces the highest fuel economy ratings at 23 city/32 hwy/26 combined, while the same all-wheel-drive Compass is rated at 22 city/31 hwy/25 combined by the EPA. While the two-wheel-drive Compass equipped with a six-speed automatic earned an identical 22 city/31 hwy/25 combined rating, while the all-wheel drive equipped with the nine-speed automatic was rated at 22 city/30 hwy/25 combined.

For over 75 years the jeep has been a toy in every homestead, enjoying the love and connection with people, and always will be, vehicles for dreamers and doers, its forges an extraordinary, uncommon bond with the drivers who choose to get behind the wheel. Adventure is a part of the DNA of every Jeep Brand vehicle ever built and as long as curiosity drives man to explore the edges of heaven and earth, the Jeep Brand will continue to inspire him to go beyond.

When your cargo is ready all you need to do is arrange your space to your liking. The rear lift gate on Compass opens up to reveal 53.6 cubic feet of cargo area+ when the standard 60/40 split-folding rear seats are laid flat. Fold the rear seat backs and available folding front passenger seat backs to get up to 53.6 cu. ft. of cargo room during which the powerful flip-down liftgate speakers let you take your music outdoors to enjoy, with premium quality sound. When the rear hatch is open, the speaker unit can swing down to project music for the surrounding outside world to hear. A nine-speaker Boston Acoustics 368-watt sound system with subwoofer is also available.

The Acoustic windshield has become a reality in the jeep world starting with the Compass, as it is equipped with a standard acoustic glass windshield, offering the luxury of a quiet cabin wherever you go. At highway speeds, it helps improve the ability to hear normal conversations, lessens wind noise, decreases cabin noise from outside traffic and improves your hands-free Bluetooth experience when using the Uconnect System, and who goes cruising without power sunroof, all to brighten your outlook with the touch of a button. The sunroof opens with an express open/close feature, while its sunshade helps keep you cool in hot temperatures

The car maker has ensured that the all new Jeep Compass, which now shares a platform with the smaller Jeep Renegade, would begin shipping to U.S. dealerships next week. The company expects dealers to be fully stocked with the Compass in about two months. My hope is to test drive one on the deserts of Arabia and offer my opinion.
